Joseph Holt Home

Joseph Holt Home

This house was once home to Judge Advocate General Joseph Holt, who served in the administration of Presidents James Buchanan, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, and Ulysses Grant. The Holt Home located in rural Breckinridge County, Kentucky and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

We first were able to visit this restored home in the spring of 2025. The grounds are open all year for people to visit the home. During the year the Friends of Holt Home host events where the home is open to the public.

We went back to the Holt home for the Christmas open house and was able to tour the inside of the home. We have two videos that show the time that we spent there.

The first one was in the spring here below.

The grounds and view from this home are wonderful to see in person. We really enjoyed ourselves while there walking the grounds and eating our lunch there.

When we went back this winter it was a very cold day. But they had the house warm in decorated wonderful for Christmas. Once again, we really enjoyed our time there touring the home and hearing live music.

This video below is of the Christmas open house.

Make sure that you check out Friends of Holt Home on Facebook to see the different events and time that they offer.
