Travel & Route Directory – Scenic Routes, Historic Journeys, and Travel Guides
In our Travels we are always looking for new places to explore. We share our travels in the On The Trail page so that you can explore them also. To help us and you find even more places to explore we are building a Directory of Historical sites, out of the way paths and towns. At this time our Travel & Route Directory is mainly for the Midwest, Ohio River Valley, and the Mississippi River areas.
When you look at the listings we have marked the ones that we have visited and give you links to our post and or videos that we have done on the place.
As home to the largest nesting colony of the endangered interior Least Tern east of the Mississippi River, this refuge has been recognized as a Globally Important Bird Area and included in the National Audubon Society’s Important Bird Areas in Indiana. With over 380 species of wildlife in our area, early mornings may be your ideal time to see wildlife in and around the river bottoms. This wildlife management property lies off the southwest corner of Duke Energy’s 3,000-acre Gibson Lake west of Princeton, IN.
