Description

Lincoln Pioneer Village in Rockport is a relaxed stop for anyone interested in Abraham Lincoln, southern Indiana history, and old buildings. The outdoor village includes log structures that are either historic buildings or reproductions of the kind of places Lincoln would have known during his Indiana years. Inside the museum, we found more than we expected, including artifacts and stories connected with people who lived in and around Rockport. We enjoyed looking through the exhibits first and then walking among the buildings outside, where the setting helps bring the area’s early history to life. It is the sort of place where taking your time, reading the displays, and looking closely at the construction adds to the visit.
