Old North Cemetery is Mount Vernon's earliest pioneer burial ground, containing the graves of Judge John Pitcher, Civil War veterans, cholera victims, and many founding families. The historic cemetery preserves an important chapter of Posey County's frontier and Lincoln-era history.
